From producing the full product, i have learned how much detail has to go into the planning of a full opening of a film and the attention to detail that goes into each shot, we did do this in the preliminary task but as our final product obviously had more shots this became much more obvious to us. I also noticed how long it took to actually film each shot, and as we took over an hour trying to film the first shot we realised we had to do this quicker in future in order to complete the filming on time. From the preliminary task we leanred more about the shots and how to use them to their full advantage, such as shot reverse shot. We learnt from the mistakes we made during the preliminary task, as we tried to manage our time better and dedicate a time slot to each shot to keep our group on track.
Q6. What have you learned about technologies from the construction of this product?

These two photos help to exlain how we edited our film on Adobe premiere, the second image has been labelled to help explain the tools we used.
1) This first tool shows the effects that can be added into the film, this includes features such as dissolve, features that enhance the film and add detail. Also, this box allows the volume of the sounds used in the film to be altered.
2) The second tool is called the editing decision box, al of the things we have used in the project are kept here, including our captured film and also any black screen or sounds that we have used.
3) The third arrow points to the audio track, all of the sounds that are incorporated into our film are kept here and the the volume of the sounds can be changed by dragging the yellow line up to increase the sound or down to decrease. The sound can also be faded out or in using the diamond from the effect box.
4) The fourth arrow points towards the graphics that we have used in our film, these graphics only appear where our film shots appear along the film line, these graphics also include dissolves which fade the graphic in and take it back out again smoothly.
5) This mini screen allowed us to view our captured footage in deatil and precisely edit it to our liking using the timeline below it.For example one thing we used this for was to edit out the voice of the director cutting the scenes from when we were filming.
6) This screen is where we were able to watch the movie in detail and check over it to spot any mistakes or just to see our shots in a larger form.
One particular thing i learnt about whilst constructing the film was about non- linear editing, a modern editing method which involves being able to access any frame in a digital video clip with the same ease as any other. In our project we used non linear editing and we thought this helped us and made our project easier to construct as it was easier to correct our mistakes which was particularly useful as this was our first time at creating a film. One way that we used this to correct our mistakes was for example at one point we found an unwanted jump cut in our film, but we were able to correct this by inserting another take fo the same shot into the gap to correct the mistake, this would have been difficult if we had been using linear editing. Linear editing is the old method that was used when composing films, it was done by using a roll of film which meant that the shots recorded had to be filmed in order, then, when developing the film and editing, the roll of film had to be physically cut, each shot had to be cut out and then stuck before the previous shot, so they all connected correctly, this would have been extremley difficult and precise to do. I think that non linear editing is a much more practical and precise way of constructing films as it is more technologically advanced and easier to use.
